Core Values & Focus

At The Bloom School, we hold to a core set of values and beliefs that center on a child's holistic development to increase functional independence and academic understanding.

Our Core Values are set forth to provide a safe and healthy environment for our learners and their families.

Our Values.

  • Individuality.

Every child has a unique set of gifts and talents that should be fostered, developed, and valued.

  • Opportunity.

All children have the ability to learn and develop and should be offered the opportunity to grow in a space designed to enhance their interests and talents.

  • Individualized Learning.

Education should focus on the development of unique talents in an environment conducive to an individual child’s learning style.

  • Natural and Holistic.

Learning should take place in a natural and holistic environment that is designed to elicit engagement and interest in the learners.

  • Communication.

Communication is critical for learning and independent functioning. Communication should be developed in the modality that works best for each individual child.

  • All Behavior is Communication.

All behavior is communication, has meaning and purpose, and should be validated and understood by those working with children.

  • Validation.

A child’s unique communication style should be validated and honored while systematically developing the ability to understand neurotypical language concepts.

  • Multiple Modalities.

Education should be presented in multiple modalities centering on a child’s unique interests and talents.

  • Social Emotional Learning.

Social emotional learning and understanding is vital to the development of independent functional skills.

  • Sensory Integration.

Learning should be enhanced by the development of self-regulation skills related to emotional responses and sensory integration.
